Food Bank of Central Louisiana Donation Drive in Alexandria, LA

Here at Giles Hyundai, we’re committed to being involved in our community and helping our neighbors in need whenever possible. That’s why we’re holding an ongoing food drive for the Food Bank of Central Louisiana here at our dealership. We’ll be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to this organization, which has a longstanding history of helping Louisianans in need. We’re proud to be part of its incredibly worthwhile mission: to alleviate hunger in Central Louisiana.

The Food Bank of Central Louisiana is a member of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization. The Food Bank feeds thousands of hungry Louisiana residents each month. Its four signature programs are the Adopt-a-Senior program, which provides low-income seniors with around 50 pounds of food per month a year; the Good Food Project, which grows and provides fresh, organic produce to Food Bank clients; the BackPack program, which provides backpacks full of healthy food for hungry children to take home during weekends and school vacations; and the Kids Cafe, an afterschool program that provides food, tutoring, activities and care for children who might otherwise not get an evening meal. Beyond this, the organization provides meals for families and individuals in poverty throughout the Central Louisiana region, in part through its Mobile Pantries.
