Hunters for the Hungry Food Donation Day in Alexandria, LA

If you love hunting and fishing, you probably have more frozen game and fish than you know what to do with. Here’s a solution for you: Clean out your freezer and donate your protein to the Food Bank of Central Louisiana on Clean Out Your Freezer Day! On September 25th, 2022 — also known as Clean Out Your Freezer Day — we’ll be collecting food donations from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. here at Giles Hyundai. All food donations must be properly packaged, labeled and dated when donated.

Clean out your freezer day | September 25, 2022 | 1 PM - 4 PM

This event is held annually by Hunters for the Hungry, a Louisiana nonprofit organization that encourages sportsmen to give excess bounty to those in need across our state. They’ve been working with hunters and fishermen to further this worthy cause for over 20 years. On Clean Out Your Freezer Day 2021, the organization collected over 17,000 pounds of food at drop-off locations all over the state! This food was then donated to food banks throughout Louisiana.

Grocery store prices have only gotten higher in the past few years, so food banks have seen far fewer donations of meat and fish — crucial sources of protein for those in poverty across our state. Hunters for the Hungry is working to fill this need with donated game and fish, and each donation goes a long way. In fact, one pound of meat equals four meals for hungry Louisianans!

Don’t let the extra game and fish in your freezer go to waste — drop it off here at our dealership on September 25th. Your neighbors in need will thank you!

Help us make a difference this Clean Out Your Freezer Day!
